Apple’s Vision Pro Headset : Everything you Need to Know

Apple has officially introduced the Vision Pro its first-ever mixed reality headset. The headset is generally marketed as an Augmented Reality gadget, although it seamlessly transitions between AR and VR through a dial.

Unlike previous AR headsets, Vision Pro does not include a controller and instead navigates the interface using the wearer’s eyes and hands. Users can navigate between rows of icons by merely looking at them and doing actions such as tapping to pick and flicking to scroll. It also supports voice commands from Siri and supports Bluetooth accessories that let you access content from Mac when wearing the headset.

The Apple Vision Pro is a mixed reality headset that combines the benefits of virtual and augmented reality. the Vision Pro allows you to fine tune your own balance between the virtual and real worlds via the device’s spinning crown. The Vision Pro, which is fully integrated into the Apple software experience, enables use cases not conceivable with traditional VR headsets.

Watching a movie in your room on a virtual TV screen that can be as huge as you like while staying within the pleasant home setting of your room is one of them. Apple is developing a number of such use cases that combine the real and the virtual to create new ways of working, entertaining, learning, and communicating. The design is comfy and compact, making it simple to transport, wear, and utilize.

A short and incomplete list of its components we know so far:

How Does Apple Vision Pro Work?

The Vision Pro has an OLED display panel on both the inside and exterior, allowing for the passthrough effect, which allows users to see through the otherwise opaque screen.

This works like a chunky pair of glasses, not very different from the working of the Google Glasses or the Snap Spectacles. This lets users throw virtual elements on top of their existing, physical surroundings. However, that is where the similarities end.

The Vision Pro’s transparent display can also be converted into a high-resolution screen and a full-fledged VR headgear at the touch of a button. When in this mode, the Vision Pro may completely immerse the user in whatever is displayed on the screen, which is, once again, very customizable.

What Can You Do With Headset?

The headset is capable of running popular Apple applications including Books, Camera, Contacts, Facetime, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Safari, and more in mixed reality a blend of both AR and VR.  According to Apple, the apps will feel like they are in your natural space and environment. As a result, moving apps is a similar experience to moving actual items around you.

Apple Vision Pro: Price and Release Date

While the headset has been introduced, it is not yet available to the general public. In reality, you won’t be able to buy one this year because it won’t be available until early 2024. The Apple Vision Pro will be priced at $3,499 (about Rs 2,89,000) at launch. However, availability in India has not yet been confirmed. More information on the subject should become available in the coming months.

Apple Vision Pro: Specs and Features

According to Apple, the Vision Pro will deliver phenomenal computing performance. It is driven by an M2 CPU as well as a new R1 chip, which is utilized to process input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones, and it also minimizes lag to avoid latency. Apple claims to be able to update photos eight times faster than the blink of an eye. According to Apple, the headgear runs virtually silent.

There are two ultra high resolution displays that combine to produce 23 million pixels and a 4K display for each, resulting in a display that looks to be 100 feet wide. Text appears sharp from every angle and video can be rendered in 4K resolution.

The Vision Pro outperforms practically all competitors on the market in terms of raw power. It has two high resolution panels, a slew of cameras and sensors, and bespoke CPUs that eliminate latency and lag. Simply put, it is capable of more than any other headset.

Apple Vision Pro : Design

Apple chose the materials for the Apple Vision Pro to make it as wearable as possible. A bespoke aluminum alloy frame curls around the user’s face, and the modular design allows it to be perfectly adjusted to each individual. The Light Seal is composed of a soft cloth and is available in a number of sizes and shapes to fit the user’s face precisely. There are flexible straps that may be adjusted to fit the head and keep the Audio Pods close to the ears. The cushioned Head Band comes in a variety of sizes and may be swapped out for a different size or style.

Apple Vision Pro : Software & Apps

Apple packed cutting edge technology into the Vision Pro headset. It’s obvious this was a costly device. Previous rumors stated that Apple understood this wasn’t a smartphone for everyone. It is intended for early adopters, developers, and organizations who can afford the cost given the potential. This will be a high-performance device with the same computational power as a MacBook Air, thanks to an M2 and a new R1 processor. To equal this pace in the VR World, you must connect to a computer with a powerful discrete GPU.

There will be an App Store where users can download familiar iPhone and iPad apps as well as new programs built just for Vision Pro. Apple promises a slew of apps at launch, including Microsoft Office Apps, third-party video conferencing apps, and Adobe Lightroom. Apple also showed off a Sky Guide app that can transport you into space.
